Italian Supper On A Snowy Winter’s Eve

We did not get snow this Christmas – we got rain. The snow decided to fall right after The New Year and it has not stopped.  What does a Chef do when she is snowed in? Cook of course.   The day started off like this…..

IMG_3393I made it outside to feed the birds and the flock of 60 Wild Turkeys- It was a really hard few days for wildlife – temperatures dipped below freezing. My fingers stuck to the bird seed containers. The turkeys were coming right up onto my porches to eat the spilled feed.IMG_3543   snow turkeysOn days like this I head into the kitchen to make comfort food. I like to prepare a large batch type of stew or sauce that we can eat over a few days. I decided to cook some Bolognese sauce. I made it with my own canned tomatoes.
